Thinking Big

Our HIF Small Grant funded project closed at the end of November, with only the Final Report still to write and then submit online.

The last blog mentioned a CMPR / HIF event at Swansea University on the interim findings of the research.  This event enabled us to start ‘thinking big’ in terms of any innovation and any future development of the project and research.  Key outcomes from this event included:

• Contact with UNHCR operations in the UK and consideration of how the findings of the research might equally apply to participation in refugee protection within a UK and European context.
• Partnerships built with academics researching closely aligned fields in terms of refugee children, protection and child participation and ideas for collaboration and associated research posts.
• Consideration of the Large HIF Grant and submitting an application in 2013.

With a relatively small amount of money, a huge amount of work has been possible over the past six-month period.  Many thanks go to the HIF team and the Consortium partners in this project whose support, ideas and encouragement have been invaluable.
