Shaping the future: Our strategy for research and innovation in humanitarian response.
Angela joined Elrha in 2019 as the manager of the HIF’s gender-based violence (GBV) area of focus. She now continues to support this work, while leading the ‘thematic’ innovation team addressing Inclusion, WASH and GBV.
Prior to joining Elrha, Angela worked in innovation for the humanitarian sector with a focus on design thinking, facilitation/capacity strengthening and innovation management for the UN World Food Programme (WFP)’s Innovation Accelerator, various Country Offices, and the ETC Cluster. Before working for humanitarian contexts, Angela consulted internationally for the global health sector, working with Population Services International (PSI) as a trainer and technical advisor in human-centered design (HCD) and behaviour change communications for healthcare providers while focusing primarily on sexual and reproductive health (SRH).
Angela believes that applying innovation principles to systemic issues such as gender bias and racism can drive a more equitable future. She is passionate about making our work more inclusive, accessible and impactful, especially for women and girls affected by crisis, and is keen to enable this change from global to community-levels.
